You can discover food from all over the world in Berlin, making it a great trip for foodies. There are plenty of other German towns where you may get your fill of German cuisine; instead, visit Berlin to enjoy the culinary offerings of the numerous immigrants who have made this city their home. Make sure you spend at least three days in Berlin if you want to explore everything the city has to offer. To help you get started on your culinary journey in Berlin, I’ve put together some of my favourite vegan restaurants.
Azzam, Sonnenallee 56, Neukölln, serves the best Syrian food.
As far as Syrian cuisine in Berlin goes, there is none better than Azzam, a busy but simple eatery serving up huge plates of falafel and grilled veggies, as well as bowls of freshly produced hummus and other dips like foul and msabbaha. When I first came here after returning from a month in Syria, the aromas, flavours, textures, and whole experience brought back many pleasant memories.
Best Thai food: Mae Charoen, Neukölln’s Sonnenallee 134, Sonnenallee 134
On Sonnenallee, there’s a tiny Imbiss that serves some truly authentic Thai food, and sitting outside on a lovely summer evening, you could almost believe you’re in Bangkok, not Berlin! You can have a start, a main course, and a drink for under €10 here as well.
Bejte, Zietenstrasse 8, Schöneberg, serves the best Ethiopian food.
At this authentic Ethiopian eatery, you may enjoy one of the customisable injera platters, which are filled with various curried vegetable recipes, by torning off a piece of the flatbread and scooping it up with your hands. There are also some interesting date-based desserts and Ethiopian-style coffee on the menu, and much of the non-meat cuisine is already vegan.
In Prenzlauerberg, AtayaCaffe, Zelterstrasse 6, serves the best Italian-Senegalese fusion cuisine.
How many Italian-Senegalese fusion restaurants would you anticipate Berlin to have?? Even so, this restaurant is worth a mention because of its simple yet diversified menu, which includes Italian and West African dishes. Sunday brunch at this Italian-Senegalese restaurant is a feast for the eyes, with a wide variety of hot and cold foods for you to eat as much of as you like!
Take a Berlin food tour to gain a better sense of the city’s culinary diversity. In addition to being fully private, these excursions with Withlocals are also completely customizable, allowing you to have the tour personalised to match your unique dietary preferences, hobbies or desires!.
